JOIN US FOR JULY 4TH IN ALACHUA

The Gator Detachment will have TWO tents at the 4th of July celebration at the Alachua Recreation Park. We will have our new red vendor tent (with the word MARINES and the Eagle Globe and Anchor in black).
We will also have our white tent on the property. We will set it up in the field where all the activities are. Bring your lawn chairs and coolers and join us at the Party Tent. This will be a chance for everyone to just hang out together. We can anticipate that it will be warm and there is always a chance of afternoon rain.
Our vendor tent will be a place where people can come by and find out more about the League. We will need someone to be there at all times to answer questions and keep an eye on any of our property.
For those who have not been to this event, it is recognized as one of the best “small town” celebrations in the country. There are plenty of vendors there selling food, drinks, patriotic trinkets and goods of all sorts. The fireworks display is really amazing, considered by most to be better than the annual Fanfare and Fireworks held in Gainesville.
Arrive any time. We set up in the morning at 9:00am. We expect to see people coming in around noon and we’ll probably be there until the conclusion of the fireworks in the evening.
